About VUSET

Vellakovil Union School Education Trust (VUSET) is a charitable non-profit organization committed to fostering quality education in 89 public schools, elementary through higher secondary, within the boundaries of the Vellakovil Panchayat Union in the Tirupur District of Tamil Nadu, India. Formed by the headmasters and the PTA presidents of our schools, VUSET serves more than 10,000 students, mostly from poor farms and villages, and their 300 dedicated teachers. We seek to cultivate academic excellence by:

• collecting funding from the government and our generous donors for infrastructure development at our schools
• encouraging students by recognizing their academic achievement on the 10th and 12th exams at our meetings
• sharing concerns, suggestions, ideas, and solutions regarding our schools at our general body meetings, held twice a year on the 26th of January and the 15th of August; please see here for specific details on what takes place at our meetings!
